In This Moment, We Are Infinite

I like getting mail :)   Hi, my name is Hali. I'm a student of Anthropology, Women Gender and Sexuality, and Non-Profit Management.
I'm in love with traveling, social movements, film and weed.
I like to reblog photos of places that I want to visit.
For the first time in years I am completely at peace with who I am.

Remember when Lady Gaga made a music video where she killed her boyfriend and everyone called her a genius?

Well, remember when Rihanna made a video where she killed her rapist, and the media was, “This is too violent for mainstream airplay.”

That is called RACISM IN THE MEDIA.

This is from the slut walk. One of the arguments is that girls ask for rape because they wear slutty clothes, short skirts, tight, low-cut tops. This girl is an example of the fact that rape victims can look like anyone, you, me, this girl. Rapists. Dont. Discriminate.

I promised a long time ago that I’d reblog this whenever I saw it on my dash. No regrets, it breaks my heart every single time.

an incredibly important message, rape is rape. no one is ever asking for it. a woman has the right to dress how ever they want - it is society that identifies risque dressing as ‘asking for it’, and in my opinion, that way of thinking needs to be diminished.

This brave young individual is male because you’re right, rapists don’t discriminate.

Anonymous asked: I eat, just not like a pig, I'm 5'4 100lbs. Please keep your fat-friendly bullshit out of the feminism tag.

Answer:

honey, I posted it laughing at the politicized gendered clothing that exists. I’m not preaching or demeaning, Some people searching “feminism” would also like this post. Also it’s tumblr, you can’t control tags.

Today we remember the Battle of Hogwarts

Tomorrow is May 2nd, the day the battle of Hogwarts 15 years ago. The day that Harry, Ron and Hermione snuck back into Hogwarts and destroyed the Horcruxes. The day that Harry finally defeated Voldemort. We remember everyone who fought in the war and all those who died. Fred Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, Colin Creevey, Severus Snape and more. May we raise our wands to those who fought and died. Remember, remember May 2nd 1998.

whoneedsfeminism:

I need feminism because I shouldn’t be told by my anatomy teacher that not shaving my leg hair is “kinda gross.”
While learning about the hair shaft, my anatomy teacher (a female) suggested that the “ladies” in the class should join swim team so that we wouldn’t have to shave for months, even though it’s “kinda gross.” She went on to perpetuate more gender norms about male and (mostly) female relationships to their body hair.
A comment like that shouldn’t be made by any teacher, but especially not when I’m learning about the human body — which includes MY FEMALE human body that GROWS HAIR — and especially not from someone who knows that there are no health risks that result from having leg hair and a vagina simultaneously.
